2017 in Books

My book goal in 2017 was 35, and I nearly made it.  I read a lot of good books this year, but I think Jodi Picoult's Small Great Things was a timely favorite.  I've read a lot of Picoult's books, and this one was, in my opinion, her best work.  Neil Gaiman's American Gods was also excellent, and Jenny Lawson's Furiously Happy made me laugh, then touched me deep inside with her descriptions of what it's like to live with depression.  I also loved getting drawn back into R's world with Isaac Marion, and can't wait for the third installment.  Also, if you're an Instagrammer, check out his Instagram because he's really funny.

My least favorite book of the year was probably Ruth Rendel's Dark Corners.  Mostly because it was just sort of... eh.
